All Down My Chin : Oct 02 2010
Dribbble! That's correct. 3 "b"s.
If you're a web based designer, you'll no doubt have heard of Dribbble. And if you are pretty good at what you do, you'll probably have been drafted in and, therefore, have an account.
I'm possibly a little late to the party in terms of blogging about Dribbble, but I was lucky enough to be drafted in pretty early, when the site was a closed garden to invited members only. I've also not blogged about until now because I really wanted to give it some air miles. And I'm also a bit of a lazy blogger :) Anyway, here is my account: http://dribbble.com/players/kevadamson. Have a look around yo.
In this post I discuss what it's about, what I think of it, my response to its criticsim, and also some possible extras I think that may be useful. Read. Or there'll be no pudding.

I am often asked the process by which I take a traditional line drawing, and then add colour, texture and compositional treatment to it.
This post goes through basic scanning and line preparation for a 'print-ready' illustration. It's quite basic stuff but hopefully a few of you may find it useful.

- What is your intended output / use for the illustration?
- What are the other specifics? Colour, size, ...
If you are unsure of what information to provide in your brief, or feel there is something you have overlooked, then this article may prove useful. Read on my little inquisitor ...

If yer like it, give it a nice juicy high score and, who knows, it may even get printed! That would be cool! My design can be found at http://www.splittheatom.com/design/item1074/index.asp ...
But I think you may need to login / sign-up to vote – not sure. But tell all yer friends. Tell people who aren’t even your friends. Tell yer Grandma. Tell the postman. Tell everyone …
I’m planning on doing a load more designs on a kind of similar random-ish theme in the future, and I’ll be sure to shamelessly promote them in my blog posts also. Heh! It’s all good …
Degree or not degree ... : Apr 15 2007
Well. That is the question. Or at least a question …
I get a few emails now and again asking my advice on how to get into illustration and design as a career etc., not sure why I get asked. I’m sat around in my pants hitting my ‘stumble!’ button most hours of the day, but there was one that I got t’other day asking me the following: ...
