Welcome. This here is a place where myself and others can gather and type words that hopefully form coherent sentences of some worth (or not) ... [Blog-Home]

Just to let you know, the design idea for my new site can be found at: www.kevadamson.com/2008/
Please note that it is just a dummy one-pager at the moment, so none of the links go anywhere, and on the real thing the thumbs will all be different. There is some dummy functionality in there though, so feel free to click around and try and break!
I will be doing a detailed post to go into some of my ideas / reasons / processes real soon – I must get some client work done first though ;) otherwise I’ll get told off!
Overall, from my last post, it’s getting good feedback. Let me know what ye’all think guys an’ gals …
Update – 09/01/08 : I hadn’t checked the site in Safari and noticed, due to a slight slip-up in the mark-up, that the twitter / flickr area was not showing – this is now fixed. I also realised that Nick La’s comment in my previous post about font size was certainly a fair point when taking into consideration the Safari browser – so I’ve increased font sizes in certain areas a little to address the issue ...

I like it but the navigation at the top is not so clear, but everything else is good
Very nice, the sidebar especially fits well. Only thing I see that “breaks” is the paper edging in smaller windows, and the moving portfolio pieces when CSS is turned off (runs over the contact form). Movement is maybe a bit too fast, in general. “Pause all” button needed, perhaps.
Looks great! Looking forward to seeing it go live.
Very nice indeed.
Looking good – the mechanics of the portfolio are quite clever :D
The spacing is looking good now. Personally I am not a big fan of the moving art but, like I said, that’s a personal thing, and you can stop it.
Good luck with the site.
Cheers for the comments everyone!
@bgw: Site ‘breaking’ now fixed. I could slow the transitions down, I’ll see if others feel they are too fast also …
Are you sure? There is no sugar.
@Lucian: Errr, yer what??!? ...
Didn’t you see the Pepsi ads? :)
Your new design is just different and I thought it was funny to ask you if you’re sure about this.
@Lucian: Ah. I see :) Like this one, yeah?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywHl1JJAh-c
Yeah, ‘course I’m sure about having a different design. If I’d wanted something that looks like a load of other websites I’d have bought a wordpress template and been done with it. Otherwise, what’s the point?
Wowww, it looks great!
