Just a quick post to introduce Chrissie – a superb poet who lives in Forest Hill in South London. I have been lucky enough to illustrate a number of poems for her next book of poems for children, entitled: ‘I Don’t Want an Avocado for an Uncle’.
From the moment I had read a few samples of her work, I knew it was a project I wanted to be involved in. Her poems are witty, original, honest, unpatronising, clever, and very well considered.
Make sure you visit her web site – www.chrissiegittins.co.uk – and read some of her work, and I have also uploaded some sample illustrations to my portfolio – so go and have a gander at them as well, if yu want! ...
There was a young girl from Havant,
who walked with a bit of a slant,
'You have got a lean',
said her friend Billy-Jean,
so she applied for an angle transplant.
Heh! Great stuff, yeah?
